Simple access through a QR code
One product. A much clearer picture.
A Digital Product Passport (DPP) is an online record of what a product is, what it is made from and how to care for it. A QR code on a label or packaging connects people to those details, bringing information beyond the physical label.
Product identity
Keep product names, images, identifiers and specifications in a clear, consistent record.
Materials & composition
Explain what your product contains, including fibre composition and recorded recycled content.
Origin & supply chain
Connect products with the manufacturers, facilities and suppliers behind them.
Care, repair & next use
Give customers useful care instructions and guidance for repair, reuse and end-of-life handling.
Documents & evidence
Bring relevant certificates and supporting records together with the product they describe.
Environmental information
Add available environmental data and assessment information to give your product story more context.
The full product lifecycle
From origin to next life.
A product’s story continues long after it leaves the factory. A connected Digital Product Passport helps keep useful information available, from the first material to what comes next.
One connected record. A longer view. The information available at each stage depends on the records and guidance you add.

Preparing for EU product transparency
Start with better data. Build your DPP readiness.
Textile apparel is a priority for Digital Product Passports under the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). The textile-specific requirements are being developed.
Organising your product records now gives your team a practical starting point: understand the information you hold, identify gaps and plan the evidence you need.

A few things you may be wondering.
Have a question about your products or your first passport?
A Digital Product Passport is a digital record connected to a physical product. It brings together details such as product identity, materials, origin, care instructions and relevant documents. A QR code lets customers and partners access the information you publish.
Does GCL-BI provide DPP verification?
Yes. Our services include product-data and document verification, audits, testing and life cycle assessment (LCA) support. The scope is agreed for each project, based on your products and requirements. Publishing a passport and completing verification are separate activities.
Who is the platform designed for?
The platform is designed for businesses working with textiles, apparel and accessories, including manufacturers, brands, suppliers and trading companies. Talk to us about your product categories and business requirements.
Do I need an LCA before creating a passport?
No. A basic passport can be created without a life cycle assessment (LCA). Environmental information can be added where available, and you can discuss LCA or verification support separately with our team.
Will all my company information be public?
No. The public passport displays the product information and eligible documents selected for publication. Private onboarding records, payment information and service-request attachments are separate from the public product page.
Does a DPP automatically make my product EU compliant?
No. A DPP helps organise and share product information, but compliance depends on the rules that apply to your product and market. Textile-specific EU requirements are still being developed. We can discuss your passport and verification needs as part of your preparation.
